Lip Obsession!

No, i have not yet indulged my wallet in a nude orange or orangey with a tad of rouge lipstick YET.
but i plan on it.
This summer i've been stuck to my bright purple and bright bright red lipstick
with fall creeping around the corner i'll most likely be going back to nudes... or darks. both.
orange, though, is nice for fall i think as well.
i'm starting to believe more and more that a girl can never have enough lipsticks tucked away in her make-up drawer. it's my recent addiction, along with shades and specs. so fun.
mmMMM.

There is no objective.

It was a day for subtle, sluggish music.
i first fell in love with angus and julia stone when my friend tash sang 'mango tree' at an open mic event at the school. her and evan did harmony and i was blown away.
angus and julia stone create the flawless type of music that makes you wanna fall asleep while listening. or just sit, listen and daydream.
today i did both.
this is a lovely song.

dos es [better than] uno.

You can never go wrong when it comes to crepes.
savoury or sweet, which would you like?
viv & i tried to nestle ourselves on the uncomfortable, dead grass in stanley park. of all places we had to pick the poky, dead grass; the type that indents your legs/partial butt when sitting on it too long & then you realize it kinda hurt so you shift to another position after approx 10 minutes.
this was a day for tandem biking. and boy did we get a work-out...

For some reason i thought it would be brilliant idea to bring on our bike ride an energy
drink... no lid. my idea was to be able to tandem bike while holding one hand on the bike handle and the other holding my drink.
failure you say? yes. twas.
in the above picture i am using a leaf... as a napkin to wipe up the mess the drink made of my hand from spilling it everywhere.  'wow nat. you really thought that idea through..".

So as you can see we are all happy & giggly.
.... until i realize i had just sat on bird poo. not just a little plop... like on a friggin pool of bird poo [look at the pic]. at first i didn't even notice it. until afterwards i looked at my hands & noticed they were white... and i look at the block of cement and freak out.
"viv i think i just sat in bird poo!"
"no nat. how would that be bird poo? it's only on like one area of this whole strip of the cement blocks... it's probably like chalk from rock climbers or something."
"you're allowed to climb the rocks here?"
"i dont know... i think so. well it wouldn't make any sense for it to be bird poo. it's not like the birds are all gonna poo in one spot".......
*we look up*
"OH. MY. GOSH."
birds on every freakin rock ledge. with their tails hanging over the edge of their own little rock.

Did you notice them? we didn't... you can barely even see them. haha.
we sound like complete idiots, but seriously, if you were there, you would have been just as stunned as we were. WHAT BIRDS DECIDE TO HANG OUT AND POO IN ONE SPOT ALL DAY LONG WHEN THEY COULD MAKE USE OF THE WHOLE STANLY PARK SEAWALL? and what were the odds that i had the privilege to sit in it.
oh did i forget to mention i'm slightly a germophobe?
thank goodness for purell.

city sista

[crop top-USED;washed out jeans, chain rings-wasteland;studded belt-thrifted;shades-true value vintage]

i know i just went to cali & blew tons'a money, but yesterday, i couldn't help myself. when i find myself in a vintage store it's veryyyy difficult to refrain from purchasing something that is 'perfect'. to be frankly honest, i just use the line 'it's perfect!' as an excuse to splurge my money on the item.
i invested in a pair of shades & specs & crop top.
so generally i didn't go crazy, but i did spend a load on the glasses... so i would say, being the bargain hunting, cheapo gal i am. i really need'a learn how to be careful with my money though, lately i've been spending it out of my ears. tsk tsk.
sam & i walked the streets of van together. our first ever date & it was lovely. we rested our bones at cafe crepe & chowed down on crepes and paninis and googled our eyes of cute waiters. *sigh*
i'm thinking of making a fashion haul video. just for the fun.
i know that's a very youtube-y type thing to do, but i'd really like to share some of my proud-of items i uncovered in cali that i brought home.

[summary: it was after the fireworks and we are trying to get out of the area asap so that we don't get stuck in a huge crowd of people. alvaro is in the front seat making siren noises so that hopefully people get out of the way... nik copies him... and the rest you will see...]

pin-me-up .

homemaker. pin up. home wrecker.
today was a bake-and-cook-yummy-food-and-watch-multiple-tear-jerkers kind of day.
i am so satisfied with all the goodies i consumed.
-rainbow cupcakes
-chocolate [heart shaped!] cake
-shelby's special pasta: whole grain noodles, feta, tomatoes, spinach, red onion with an amazing sauce she created.
-wendy's malt [which... i bought]
shelby & i dressed up for the date, while the other two [dom&claire] were stinkers & dressed in normal attire.
after a 'long hard day at work [baking/cooking], we sat down for a few hours & bawled our eyes out to MY SISTER'S KEEPER and THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE... or at least i did.
then, in the evening we hit up some sweet asian karaoke place... that had surprisingly many many great songs to choose from. i belted my voice and strained it, and now it hurts a bit. which is really bad to do as a singer.
oops.
my singing teacher wouldn't be too pleased...
which reminds me, tomorrow i'm giving singing/speech lessons to a little gal named Tiana.
She's adorable. she came and watched me in the musical & since then she became my best little friend.

never ending summer of forty winks.

i feel like i've lost much of my taste in music due to working at a workplace that plays the same 30 songs over and over... the ones that are over played on the radio, and the ones that people hum the tune to in public. it drives me crazy.
& since i've been working everyday since i got back from cali, i'm stuck in trance of repetitive music. gahhhhhhhh!
where did alison go? she was the music guru. i looked to her for new beats. i miss her & her wise music taste.

i would like to introduce to you... my sandwich.
